Also known as Italian Dandelion it produces tender, upright growing, long, dark green leaves to 30 cm (12") long. A must have for traditional Italian salads! Harvest as baby greens as early as 24 days after sprouting.
HOW TO GROW
Grow as you would lettuce. Sow as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring, then every two weeks thereafter to ensure a continuous supply. Sow about 3 mm (1/8") deep in rows 45 cm (18") apart. An even supply of moisture during the entire growth period is imperative for success. Harvest by cutting leaves from the main stem at least 2.5 cm (1") above the base. Avoids cutting into the crown where the root begins. New sprouts will emerge, extending the harvest. Best flavour and texture when leaves are young.
