Also called Montreal Nutmeg. From Montreal proper, this melon was widely grown and popular in the northeast and Quebec before World War II, it was thought to have disappeared, but the variety was located anew in a seed bank in Ames, Iowa. Green fleshed.

Growing recommendations
It’s best to seed melons indoors up to one month before transplanting outdoors. Plant one or two seeds per cell or pot, 1⁄2” – 1” deep. Keep soil moist and warm. Transplant when weather forecast is frost-free and warm. Transplant 1’ apart in rows 6’ apart. Cut any extra seedlings with scissors.
